Washington State Wine Country

Although a relative newcomer to winemaking, Washington state is already producing many award winning wines. The latitude, climate, and soils create prime growing regions for wine grapes.

There are 5 recognized appellations within Washington. Puget Sound, Columbia Valley, Yakima Valley, Walla Walla Valley, and Red Mountain.

Some of the major varieties of wine produced in Washington State include: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, and Syrah.
