Veneto

Veneto is a region in northeastern Italy that includes the towns of Venice and Verona. This region has three main zones of premium wine production, the western province of Verona; the central hills, in the provinces of Vicenza, Padova, and Treviso; and the eastern plains along the Adriatic coast northeast of Venice.

The Veneto region has recently emerged as one of Italy's largest producers of wine. The region produces large quantities of Soave, Valpolicella, and Bardolino, as well as Pinot Grigio, Merlot, and Cabernet.

Medium red. Smoky aromas of redcurrant, tar and meat, with a liqueur-like quality. Smooth, sweet and expressive if a bit chunky and lacking in definition. Flavors lifted by a floral nuance. Finishes with slightly dry tannins and good but not outstanding length.
