Napa Valley

The Napa Valley region, north of San Francisco, is probably the most well known wine producing region in California, or for that matter in the whole United States. Napa Valley is situated just the right distance inland from the cold Pacific Ocean to enjoy hot, sunny summer days, and cool, breezy nights.

The wine that best defines the Napa Valley is it's Cabernet Sauvignon. In fact, no other region in the world makes as many great Cabernet Sauvignons except for the Bordeaux region in France. The Napa Valey Cabernets usually taste riper and richer, and more full-bodied than other Cabernets. The Napa Valley also produces the best California Chardonnays and Merlots. Zinfandel and Petite Sirah grapes can also be found grown in the warmer northern part of the valley.
