An Intro To Napa Valley

For wine lovers, there is nothing better than taking a tour of some of the wineries in your favorite wine producing region. One of the most popular is the Napa Valley in California. A visit to Napa Valley can be a dream come true for many wine lovers. The mild climate, along with the scenery make the Napa Valley a wonderful vacation spot.

Napa Valley is in Northern California, north of San Francisco and Oakland. The soil and the climate in the region are ideal for growing wine grapes. This region is one of the top wine producing regions in the United States. Many wines come from wineries in the Napa Valley regions, from wineries such as Stags' Leap, Robert Mondavi, and Cakebread Cellars.

Tourists flock to Napa Valley every year. Millions of visitors come to tour the many wineries. Napa Valley has become one of the top attractions in California. Not only are there breathtaking views on a trip to Napa Valley, but also the chance to enjoy numerous wineries and restaurants in the area. If you make your own wine at home, a trip to Napa Valley can certainly be a good inspiration for your own winemaking efforts.

Although the Napa Valley is certainly a strong wine producing region, there have been times in history when it looked as if wine production would come to an end. One of these times was in the 1920's during Prohibition. During this time period, a root louse contributed to the destruction of many vineyards as well. A number of wineries in Napa Valley were forced to close because of this. After World War II, the wineries re-opened, and the winemaking business in Napa Valley grew to what it is today.

Napa Valley became quite popular after 1976. In this year, at the Paris Wine Tasting, Napa Valley wines, Chardonnay, and Cabernet Sauvignon were said to be better than some of the fine French wines. Today, the region has grown, and is home to hundreds of wineries, some of the best in the world.

If you visit Napa Valley, you'll have the chance to enjoy wine tours all day. You'll have the chance to enjoy a wide variety of wines, and see the winemaking process from beginning to end. You may also find some wineries offering high quality wines at discounted rates.

The entire valley, despite having so many wineries, is not a large area. The Napa Valley is only 35 miles long. Because of this it will not take you long to travel from one end of the valley to the other. If the traffic is light enough, you can travel the entire length of the valley in about 30 minutes. Most of the wineries, restaurants, shops, and lodging are located along Highway 29. Driving along this highway, you will easily be able to reach any winery in Napa Valley.

If you are a wine lover, you should take a trip to the Napa Valley at least once. Even if you are not a wine lover, you can appreciate the scenery in the area, as well as the shops and restaurants. So take a trip to Napa Valley, and you may find yourself coming back again and again.
